Parallel Universe Romance

A story where the hero and heroine meet, fall in love, or rekindle their relationship in a world that mirrors, diverges from, or directly contradicts their primary reality, often after a portal, accident, or ritual sends one or both of them to the other side.

A romance genre where the central love story involves at least one character who is not strictly human, such as a vampire, werewolf, witch, or other supernatural being, with the fantastical elements woven directly into the romantic plot.
