Mummification

A bondage practice in which a submissive is wrapped head to toe in cling film, bandages, tape, or plaster strips until they are fully immobilized, often paired with sensory deprivation once the mouth and eyes are covered. In fiction it tends to appear as the ultimate surrender scene, where the character is reduced to a still, helpless shape that can only be touched, spoken to, or used.

Readers are drawn to the total helplessness and the psychological weight of being sealed in, especially the slow reveal as each layer goes on and the submissive loses another degree of control. The sensory deprivation angle also lets a scene pivot entirely to sound, touch, and breath, which makes the trust between partners the real center of the story.

Worth knowing: Mummification restricts breathing, circulation, and body temperature, so real world practice requires clear safewords or a signal the wrapped person can still give, constant monitoring, quick access to cutting tools, and supervised release with aftercare.
