kink

Hair Pulling Kink

A kink where one partner grips and yanks the other's hair during sex or foreplay, often to assert dominance, guide movement, or amplify sensation and intensity.

dynamic

Harem Building Trope

A storyline where one protagonist (often male, but not always) gradually accumulates multiple romantic and/or sexual partners, all of whom are aware of and consent to their shared arrangement with the hero or heroine.

kink

Harem Romance

A romance where one protagonist, usually female, is romantically and sexually involved with multiple partners who all know about and agree to share her, often living together as a close-knit group.

trope

Hate to Love

A trope where two characters begin with intense mutual animosity and gradually develop romantic feelings through conflict, banter, and forced proximity, ending in a satisfying emotional turnaround.

trope

He Falls First

He Falls First is a romance trope where the male lead develops romantic feelings for the heroine before she does, and he spends significant time pining, pursuing, or waiting while she remains oblivious or uninterested. The tension comes from watching him transform from aloof or playful to emotionally invested, often risking rejection in the process.

trope

Heist Romance

A romantic plot centered on a crew pulling off a high-stakes crime, where the love story develops between partners, rivals, or the mark and the thief during planning, execution, or the aftermath.

fetish

High Heel Fetish

A sexual attraction to high heels, typically women's footwear, where the shoe itself is the focus of desire, often including the sound, shape, and act of wearing them.

trope

Holiday Romance

A love story that unfolds against the backdrop of a specific holiday, usually Christmas, Hanukkah, or New Year's, where festive traditions and seasonal settings amplify the romance and often lead to a happy-ever-after by the holiday's end.

kink

Hotwife

A married or committed woman who, with her partner's full knowledge and encouragement, has sex with other men, often sharing the details or experiences with her spouse afterward. The dynamic centers on the husband's arousal from his wife's sexual freedom and the reclaiming of her upon her return.

dynamic

Human/Alien Romance

A romance where one partner is human and the other is an alien, often featuring cross-species biology, cultural clash, and the negotiation of vastly different instincts or social norms.

dynamic

Human/Monster Romance

A romance subgenre where one partner is a non-human monster or supernatural being, from orcs and minotaurs to tentacled creatures and eldritch horrors, and the human partner navigates a love story across species lines.

kink

Humiliation Kink

A consensual kink where one partner derives arousal or emotional charge from being embarrassed, degraded, or put in a powerless position, while the other enjoys inflicting that shame within a negotiated scene.

dynamic

Hybrid Shifter Romance

A romance subgenre where one or both protagonists can shift between human and animal forms, often with the twist that the shifter is a hybrid of two species, like wolf-dragon or bear-lion, blending the traits of both.

kink

Hypnosis Kink

A kink where one partner uses hypnotic suggestion, often via voice, imagery, or trance induction, to influence or control the other's thoughts, arousal, or behavior during a scene. It plays with the erotic tension of surrendering agency to a hypnotist's voice and the thrill of being 'programmed' or 'unlocked.'
